Went to a couple of stores looking for this year’s supply of stuff.
Sportsman’s Warehouse in Riverdale appeared to be in the process of changing to summer fishing. There were six or seven bins of Clearance items inside the door, and more in the fishing department. No giveaway prices on any of it. They had NO shelves of Powerbait, crappie nibbles, or ProCure yet. Very few boat supplies. In general, the fishing section has a forlorn and vacant appearance. Many whole rows of stuff are absent.
Smith and Edwards is FULLY stocked. Only a few very popular things were sold out. Was told that DWR is phasing out the printed proclamation books in favor of online only access.
Also went to the Willard South marina. There were six trailers, including one belonging to DWR. Signs say the ramps are closed due to low water, and boy is it ever! It’s obviously launchable, but there isn’t a lot of ramp at the bottom. There were a dozen cars parked by the baffles, and I saw four guys carrying rods towards the dike. Cleaning station appeared to be open.
