[:)]Hit Scofield this morning. Kinda tuff getting up there cause of the roads. Hit the ice about 8:00 fish were hitting fast. But tough to hook them. Short bite and gone. And there were some that tried to pull the pole in. I was doing a lot better with camera down the hole so I could see the take. They would mouth it and let it go. They would make false passes at it and not touch it. Didn’t keep track but we caught a quite a few the short time the bite was on. We missed most of the hits. That was in 19 ft and when it slowed down we moved into 14 ft and was marking a lot of fish on the finder but couldn’t hook them. Put the camera down and there were schools of 6 inch dinks. We got off the Ice at 10:00 the bite was stopped. But it is great to get out and on the ice. All bows up to 18 inches and down to 6. We fished off the first cabins past the dam. Worms and white gitzets. Though I went to just a small glow white jig head and got a lot more bites. Small head and little bit of worm.
How thick was the ice? Any snowmobiles out on it?
I was planning on taking badluckduck and his 2 sons down tomorow. How was the slush?

We were out LAST weekend on snowmobiles and pretty much covered the east half of the lake. We also parked at the first set of cabins past the dam. Here’s the story on the slush - different areas had about 4 inches of slush and other areas were hard deck. Under the hard deck the ice was a good 8 inches, under the slush the ice was about 6 inches. We did not have any problems get stuck on the snow machine. There was a fresh layer of powder snow about 10 inches covering the whole lake and I imagine there is probably more now since the recent storm.
We were scouting for the Dec. 29th tournament and didn’t do well until we had moved 3 times. Then the fish were biting till we left at 12 noon. It was a bit cool - 10 belew when we got there and warmed to 2 degrees - nice day overall.
