Sand Hollow, Quail Creek & Gunlock

:sunglasses:Tom Wharton put a nice little article on Washington County State Parks in the Outdoors section of the Salt Lake Tribune this morning. It provides a generalized map and some good info on Sand Hollow, Quail Creek and Gunlock.

This is something to whet the appetites of those who are about tired of the snow and ice and would like to fish from a boat instead of an ice sled.

That sounds like it could be a good time about now. Any idea how the fishing would be down there this time of year?

:sunglasses:Haven’t heard any recent reports, but March and April are usually pretty good. Besides largemouth in Quail Creek, there are some big crappies to be had about now. Also some holdover trout for those who want variety. And, don’t overlook the big bluegills in most of the lakes.

Sand Hollow should be good for shallow largemouth. Mostly smaller fish but some respectable ones. Lots of them.

Haven’t fished Gunlock since it washed out a couple of years ago.

If you was told Gunlock was washed out they told you wrong, lots of water over the dam was all…

.

:sunglasses:I should have said flooded, not washed out. I know they got a whole bunch of water down through there.
