Had about 6 student anglers on Rockport yesterday. I will start with the standard “wow” the water level was low. I did not go over to the docks but it looked like you could still launch. We fished the dam and a rocky point along the highway. The dam produced a fair number of small bass on various setups and a couple trout that hit the bass rigs. I was running a small jig under a slip bobber. At the rocky point mid way up the lake we ran into perch right off the shore. Literally about a fishing rods length off the shore. Not a lot but enough to keep them younglings casting. Not a rip roaring trip but enough action and fun banter back and forth to make it a nice kick off to a new student angler season.
Nice report lance, we have missed them. Glad you got out with the angler students and caught same fish. Do you get many new students in your club every year?
Get 8 or 9 new every year but the problem is have is they are involved is so many things that they have a hard time getting to our trips. I probably have 30 ish in the club and get 5-9 available that can go when we plan a trip
