Any one have any recent DC news, thinking of trying the Charleston end tomorrow, hows the ice, you can PM if you want.

I was there last Saturday. The ice was around 6-8" depending on where you were. Be careful around the edges they are soft with some open water. We had success using paddle bugs tipped with chub meat in 6-8’ of water. I’m going again in the morning. I’ll let you know how I do. Also be sure to have $7 on you. They do charge a day use fee to park at Charleston, since they are maintaining the restroom.

No problem. Also when jigging let it hit the bottom every time. I’ve found that I get more bites this way. Good luck.

Is Charleston being managed by the State parks so that your Parks Pass is Accepted, Or is it still private?

I think your state pass will be ok at Charleston. A sheriff left an envelope under my wiper blade, so it’s state controlled.

Every where on Deer Creek is managed by the State Parks now.
