Went fishing for the first time this year finally with my dad Saturday evening for a few hours before dark. We got the boat in the water about 6:30 and fished shallow flats all night. I fished a rattle trap all evening and ended up with 3 bass, but only landed 2 in the boat, a 3lber and 4lber. I also somehow managed to catch 5 crappie all being 12"+ on the same lure, they must still be schooled up. My dad didn't do to well, he fished a Texas rig and only had 2 bites on that but couldn't hook em'. He finally switched to a crank bait and managed to land a good size crappie and a smaller bass. I tried a little top water right at dark and had no luck, I guess its still a little early for top water. All in all I had a great time with the best partner and that's all that matters!!<br />
