Possible new state record Splake?

Rumor has it that an 8 year old girl caught a splake last night that is over 30" and about 17 pounds! Congrats to the girl!

I’m still trying to get additional info. Hopefully by Monday I might have some pictures. Stay tuned…

That would be awesome. Congrats to the little girl. :sunglasses:

WOW BET ITS A GREAT LOOKING FISH. MOST HAVE NICE COLORS WHEN THEY GET LARGE. SHE IS RUINED UNLESS SHE GETS TO FG. ABOUT THE ONLY WAY SHE WILL EVER GET A BIGGER TROUT.

Not that hard to believe.

There was a 14lb splake caught from Fish Lake about 2-3 weeks ago. (photo attached)

PS: I forgot to mention that this same fisherman on that same morning, caught a 32 lb mack, and a 5 lb brown. Not an easy task to duplicate.

Majja was telling me about that. I hope she has it. I would LOVE for my little girl to get anything like that. I bet her dad is proud as can be

WOW now thats a splake. i caught a 27in splake out of causey and it looked more like a snake was only about 5lbs, guess they just need more food up there

Sorry for the delay in getting some pics. The fish is a pig!

It is not, however, a new state record. As the pictures will show, sometimes our eyes are a little bigger than the actual numbers.

Like mentioned previously, the fish was caught by an 8 year old girl. The fish was too large for her to hold up, so the fish is laying on a rock with her in the picture. The picture of her father is there to show the size of the fish.

The measurements came in at only 26" long. But, the fished still weighed around 12 pounds. It is far short of a record, but still a trophy by all means.

Congrats to the young fisherwoman!!

Wow… That is a nice fish! Again, congrats to the little girl. :sunglasses:
