pineview

I dont know if this a good idea or not, but i would like to go to pineview this wednesday and try to catch a muskie from the tube, I would of course be trying for whatever else, but have a hankering to get a muskie, and dont have a boat so is this a bad idea, should i wait untill my brother comes down with the boat? Is pineveiw doing any better than it was a couple weeks ago for crappie?

Its a great idea [;)] Ive caught better than 70% of my Tiger Muskys out of my tube vs my boat.. You can slip right in the tight cover with your tube and fish alot more places that are relative to the shoreline areas.. Many tigers will be cruising shallow waters less than 3 ft in search of baitfish as the waters on the rise.. Havent heard zip-nada on the crappies I know it wont be long for them and the perch to start showing up in #s..

I have never caught a muskie before, went to idaho the 4th and 5th to try but only caught a tone of sunfish, rainbows and bass, and i really want to get one before the year is over. I have heard the crappie should be about in spawn mode at pineview and it seems like it was about this time last year i couldnt keep them or the perch off.

I have been fishing for muskies from my tube. I have never had a hook up from my tube. I have had muskies come up and look at my stringer full of bluegill and crappies that is a riot. I have never caught a muskie from a boat. I have caught alot from shore just walking and casting. I have caught them at shore line. So you never now when you will get one. Pineviewfisher

Muskies from the tube or toon are awesome! i have caught a few on my toon. They pull you around and its a blast! I would fish middle inlet or spring creek back in the bays, I do good now til end of june from both the tigers and the smallies… I use tube jigs or big curly tails…

I would love to know where you went in Idaho to try for Musky. Thanks! PM me if you would rather.

Went to lamont resevoir, my brothers freind pulled a nice one out of there a couple months ago.

Thanks, I had heard that Lamont and Johnson had been stocked with Tigers, but I have never heard of anyone fishing for them or catching them there. Didn’t know if they survived. Sounds like the little fish (food for Musky)are there. How big were the panfish?

The trout were small planters, bass werent all that big, and the sunfish were about average. Neither res has been stocked with muskie since 03 and from what i understand neither have many left there. Lamonts water was clear and cool.
