I went to Pineview and fished from about 5:30pm to dark. I was also there float tubeing on monday with Catfish77 and didnt have much luck fishing for crappie. The cold spell as we all know has pushed them back to deeper water.
We didn’t see a single Musky. I ran into a guy that was float tubeing for crappie and he was having the same trouble. He had fished Spring Creek and Swim Beach all day and hadn’t caught a thing.
Hopefully the water heats up by the weekend a bit more. I had every intention to take a thermometer but forgot.
If anyone knows any shollows, somewhat accessible for crappie or muskee right now let me know. We’ll probably go tubein for crappie again on sunday if it warms up enough.
It’s supposed to get up to 90 on Sunday, so I don’t think you’ll have any problems with the water temps warming back up. If the fish will cooperate or not is anyone’s guess, but I’d bet that by Sunday they will there…
If you are in a tube I would try the shoreline from the Port Ramp to the south to the Spotsmans access. I was up there Tuesday and probably spotted 20 muskie along there. Only problem is if the wind kicks up it blows all the cold water up from the deep narrows and cools the water quick and they are gone!!! They are in there though. Another good bet wood be the Sring creek area. Both these spots are very accesable for tubing and hold Tigers in numbers!!! With this warm spell they should get active again in the next few days if they are not already.
I tubed this morning and tossed a lot of flies in the brush with my brother in-law from 6-8:30 am. No sign of tigers or bass. Pretty quiet out there. Some day I hope to get this tiger skunk off of me! I am a little imbarased to admit just how much time I have spent chasing those buggers with no success. Some day…Jake
Hit the view may 9th, had a few follows but no hits.I was in the shallows off the west side of the dock I’ve all ways known as “cemetary point.” There was alot of boating activity for shallows but it is a great place for tubes especially because the inlet and trees cuts out most of the wind.Best of luck this weekend.[;)]
I have heard that many times before and man that has got to be true! Even at 1000 casts/fish I should have at least a few of them by now! I don’t think that a prettier place exists to persue them though. Got to love it. Thanks, Jake
