Pineview hogs!

Met up with Cajun1977 and headed to the view around 1is. Launched off port ramp and headed to the sweet spot. Started catching some smallies and missing a few. We fished that spot for an hour and decided it wasn’t worth fighting the wind so we headed for a cove.
Shortly after arriving i nailed a good 18"er and it just got better from there. We fished Maniac Salt Sticks in shallow water(less than 5’) and proceeded to hammer quality fish. We got over 20 smallies with the smallest at 14 and the rest over 16 with 5 going over 18"! I picked off 2 and shawn caught 1 in 1 little corner and when we came back by he nailed a 4 1/2# largie! Beautiful fish and a hell of a fight. We did not get any tigers today or even any follows but i only threw buzzbaits for about 1/2 hour. This was definitely a quality fish day. Water temp topped out at 63.4* and it was fairly windy most of the time.
A word of caution for anyone going up this weekend, there are ALOT of graduators doing their naughty things up there this weekend and it will be a nightmare trying to bounce off the overloaded ski boats.[;)]
Forgot to mention the deer that snuck up on us.

I’ll be up there no matter what tomorrow. Sounds like you did pretty good. How is the water clarity? Water level?Shoot me a pm if you don’t mind with the good stuff [;)]. I’m hoping for some muskies.

Water was mostly clear except for the sany points that got chewed up by the wind and boats.
Pm sent.[;)]

great report and pictures Brody. looks like you guys had a blast. :sunglasses:

From what I can see that’s a good lookin’ boat. What is it?

Z-9 Nitro, just kidding, shawn wishes. It is a 185 Nitro Sport. Sweet boat.[;)]

Real nice fish.

Nice fish!!! I was planning on going to pineview but forgot about all the grads, I think instead we will go old east canyon early.

Nice fish, and a great day of fishing…

Most excellent boys! Should be a great weekend for fishin!

its gonna be one hell of a fish fry tonight with those babies`````````````````````````````

:sunglasses:Great job, guys.

It gets bad enough on Pineview most weekends, without the graduation factor. I once almost got pureed by a whole squadron of “daddy-craft” boats following a topless female skier while I was trying to cut across a channel in my float tube.

That is one of the reasons I don’t dunk there much anymore. Lots of other places to catch fish without becoming a statistic. If one of the power squadron didn’t take me out, I would probably take them out. I either go to the morgue or land in jail. No thanks.

Excellent report! :sunglasses:

LOL. Yeah right! :sunglasses:

So you guys are the ones I talked to yesterday, I was in the Ranger 210 Reata. We didn’t have as much luck as you but still had fun other than the wind. I’m still learning where all the good spots are at that lake and only normally go during the week.

Where at did we meet you?

In that wakeless cove on the north side of the middle arm

You were coming out when we were going in right?

Yea, that’s right. I had that big muskie break my line a few minutes before I talked to you guys. When that happened I picked up a rod with a spinnerbait to cast back in there and “snap”, there goes my spinnerbait flying to freedom on the cast. Then I threw a J13 on 50lb braid, got it stuck on something and broke the braid!!! 3 lures gone in about 1 minute. Not a good day for the tackle box.
