I took my buddy and his dad up last Thursday night with really high hopes after a recent post. Didn’t do as well as we were hoping but it was their first time bass fishing so they had a good time. The weather friday was pretty good, no bugs and a little wind but the fish just didn’t want to play that much. We coaxed around 40 to the boat for the day between the three of us with one big female, the rest were dinks that we made into tacos that night. We did best on purple plastics, wacky rigged senkos in dark colors and a yellow buzzbait. Not amazing but we had fun! Friday night the wind really pounded us and it was looking ugly when we got up but we went out anyway. Fished for a half hour in increasingly strong winds before we decided we really needed to get to shore quick, pulled up the anchor and busted our way through two foot waves to the closest shore, pretty scary in a 14’ jon boat!
Hey nice pictures and good bass glad to see that the bass are starting to wake up I will have to hit it very soon well as soon as this weather straightens up
F-or-D,
Did you happen to notice if there were any green shoots poking up through the dead stuff? Should be out there Friday and Saturday. If Pelican is too wind blown there are other options for me.
HockeyMan
I did notice that there wasn’t really any new stuff growing up, and last year when we went on memorial weekend it was all green, and we did really well last year…huh.
