I am a teacher and with spring break starting Thursday, I am hoping to be able to get out and do a little fishing. I know the weather is iffy, but was hoping to maybe try Willard and the Ogden. Does anyone have a suggestion as what works this time of year on the Ogden? Is it all fly fishing or do spinners work there as well. Never tried the river so just going to start blind as far as location and tackle, but suggestions would be great.
i heard that ogden river is low and the current is slow also, but when i go i usually use night crawler with a small split weight and just let the current take it down.
odgen river if you are fly fishing i would use pheasent tails with or without bead heads also try copper johns iif fishing normal i would use little spinners and maybe plastic minnows for deaper holes thats what i have had successs with depends on what part your fishing. Canyon/South fork it works for both…
I haven’t fished the Ogden for about fifteen years, but back when I did, I used to fish between the canyon and Harrison Blvd. using a Blue Fox gold colored number 2 or 3 and I did really well. Not sure how that would go right now if the water levels are low, but worth a try. Good luck.
