Headed up to Newton for the first time yesterday morning trying for my first tiger muskie. We were in our pontoon kicking around the lake for about an hour before I had the first one on. what a fight! those things are just full of teeth and muscle. Got him up to the toon grabbed him by the back of the head one shake and off he went. my guess was somewhere around 36’’ and 14 or 15 lbs. that was the only one I got to the boat. we caught 4 between the 3 of us all about the same size. Missed 5 or 6 and had a lot chase. The lake looked way down. Fun time for the first time up there.
Nice job man! Go catch the pike in Yuba now. Fish the same length are 40% heavier!!
I want to so bad! I was surprised how many musky are actually in there! there were so many up in the moss by the bank. I’ve only been to Yuba and it was a long time ago. Wouldn’t know where to start.
