Need some advice..

I’m hoping someone here can help me, The wife and I are really wanting to take our two sons shore fishing tomorrow sunday 6-27 They are two and three and a half years old. Only problem is I have no clue where to take them, I tried Glassmans Pond in South Ogden its OK, but there are only a couple of spots to fish and those have people shoulder to shoulder normally, no good for two small kids.

Can anyone give me some suggestions that would be good for 4 people two adults and two small kids. Just looking for some small panfish or small catfish. Something fun especially for the three year old, he’s really excited to try out his pole that we got him for his birthday. I was thinking pineview but I dont know of anywhere that would have room for the kids to play around on the shore. Again any help would be greatly greatly appreciated. It would mean a a lot to us and especially for my son.

Thanks a Ton

By the way here is a pic of one of those poor old finless lake trout I caught at Glassmans Pond, South Ogden in April.

Mantua may be what you are looking for. I stopped there for an hour and a half thursday and caught 8-10 little bluegill and 1 10" largemorth. A small jig tipped with a worm should keep your kids entertained.

Great, just looked it up and thats not too bad of a drive. Any specific area on the water you’d recommend, never been there before. Also would you recommend a bobber with jig \ worm underneath. I think this place may be just what were looking for.

:sunglasses:Here is a labeled map of Mantua.

Suggest you park by the restrooms and fish on the dike nearby…if you have a young one. There can be good bobber fishing close to shore all along the dike on the west side. Just move until you can see the fish in the clear water and cast out to them.

Use either a small hook or a small jig and a piece of worm. Two to three feet of line below the bobber is usually plenty. The fish will come up to look at it from many feet away.

Good luck.

Ahh thanks a ton, this is exactly what I was looking for =) You guys rock.
