Tomorrows weather forcast looks bad, but I have the day off of work and NEED to go ice-fishing. Utah Lake is close enough that I can just wait for a break in the storm (or just go for it anyway).
Is anyone else available Friday (the 19th) to fish Utah Lake? I’d prefer not to fish alone.
I live in Lehi and am willing to pick someone up if they are close - but I don’t have a lot of room in my car.
I’m planning to target the white bass at either Lindon boat harbor or American Fork boat harbor. I’m no expert on white bass, but in the past they have bit all day long, so any time of day is fine by me.
na i didnt wana walk in the blizzard. i would think if the storm passes it with be safe. just called rockport ranger. just starting at the south end by the inlett. he didnt sound like he wanted anyone out their yet. lol must be scared of ice.
I checked the ice at Lindon Boat Harbor after work and found 1 to 2 inches of really cloudy ice. A couple of turns of my auger and I broke through. You may need to fish off the docks at LBH for now.
do you think it’ll be deep enough on saturday to go out and catch some white bass on the linden ice? And what are you using for bait? I am totally new to ice fishing, but really want to try. Any help is appreciated!!!
Thanks
use jigging spoons and heddon sonars for whites. tip with mealy or waxie or minnow peices. the ice should be safe by tomarro but most the fish will be close to the docks.

I’m no expert on white bass, but as far as I can tell the real trick is to keep moving. Drill yourself 15 holes (or more) and keep moving around them. If a school is in your area, they will bite anything you put in front of them. Just keep moving till you find them.
I don’t know if you’ll read this or not, but there is a storm supposed to be rolling in around 2pm (if you trust the weatherman). So I’m headed out to AF harbor now (10:30). Hope to see you there.
The ice was 2" of really weak/milky/scary ice. There were several people fishing from the docks, I didn’t get so much as a nibble, and I didn’t see anyone else catch anything either. Still, it was funner than a day at work.
