My new record bass

I finally beat my Quail lake record of 7lbs 15oz at Lake Fork, Texas. 8lbs 3oz caught on a watermelon red brush hog 20 lb. test to get it out of the moss and weeds. Woohoo!

AWESOME! i fished Lake Fork as a teenager many moons ago. right after the built it. I am sure the big bass were in there then, and it has just multiplied since. we actaully went there to target big blue gill.

I am jealous, would love to go back there some day.

Nice fish.. congrats..

very nice fish John[fishin]

Congrats on a beautiful bass.

Your the man brotha!!!

Great fish…

That thing is a PIG man! Nice work!

now THAT is what I call a toad! bet you could fit your head in it’s mouth!

Nice hawg! Good on ya! Beats any largemouth I ever caught.

Nice! I need one of them like that haha. I can find 20 inchers here and there but not 8lbs haha. I’m still stuck at 6lbs.

Congrats on the new personal best, you deserve it!

Sweet fish.

Too sweet man! Nice fish.

Nice fish

I’m also just curious how many inches was it?

Nice bass John, thanks for sharing. Sounds like you are having a good time, how many hours did you put in to catch that hog?

Nice fat bass! Must have been a great fight.

Admiring your pontoon boat. May I ask what brand/model it is and if you would recommend it? I am starting the evaluation process of using a pontoon instead of a bigger boat.

It’s the Fish Cat Streamer XL, lightweight and the rear storage stays out of the water. The pockets are bigger than most toons which I like because I always bring a full arsenal.

I never measured any of the fish, I took the apron off which has a ruler on it. It just gets in the way when trying to lip a bass in between the toons. My buddy caught a 7 lb. 15. oz bass that was longer than mine just by looking at it but I love my girls with girth [;)].

Alex’s long 7 15 He is a saltwater fisherman and this is the first bass he’s ever caught…rookies! lol

:slight_smile:Thanks for the info on the pontoon. I’ll check it out.

After thinking about it I may be wrong, I looked at the Fish Cat website. I keep it at my buddies house in Oklahoma so I’ll give him a ring and get the accurate specs and send you a pm. Regardless, it is one of the best pontoons I’ve fished out of.
