Last night at FishLake my Ulterra stopped at the halfway point during the stow process.
I limped in and at least got in to my slip for the night.
This morning I had to do the Ulterra Walk Of Shame after taking motor off of boat while in the slip and carrying motor over shoulder through marina to my truck.
I packed up today and after taking camper out of my truck when I got home I dug in to the motor.
I found a roll pin in the magnetic cam sensor had slipped the opposite direction due to a crack in the plastic holding the STAINLESS STEEL roll pin.
Shame on the Minnkota engineers for putting a metal roll pin in a plastic sensor.
Once this roll pin shifts too far left in will not let the motor go in to ‘Stow’ position.
I really need this part tomorrow so I can take little grandson fishing Tuesday to hopefully cross a Walleye off his list.
Anyone know where I might find this part tomorrow?
I don’t even know if we have a Minnkota service center in or around the SLC area?

Minn Kota website says there are 4 service centers in the greater Salt Lake area. Pehrsons Power equipment in Millcreek, Scheels, Backwater Performance in Orem, and Adventure Marine in Ogden. I had Backwater work on my Terrova a few years ago. At that time they were the only local option. Good luck!
Call Backwater Performance. It’s in Orem just off the freeway at the 800 N Orem exit. If I remember right the MinnKota guy is Carlos. Fyi to Ulterra owners:
RPM in North Salt Lake had the updated ‘Cam sensor with magnet, part #2777903’
on their shelves for about $10.
Pro tip, keep your metal mounting bolt off your old sensor, the new ‘bolt’ included with the updated sensor is all plastic and is likely to shear off where threads are cut to the shoulder acting as pivot point of cam.
Not surprising, Minnkota will sell you a combo metal/plastic bolt that costs almost as much as new cam.
C’mon Minnkota, if you know your new updated all composite bolt is another weak point that you have to build a metal/plastic one, just include it with the updated cam already!
I love my Johnson family Cannon/Humminbird/Minnkota stuff but this part was just ridiculous.
You engineers can, and should, do better.
P.S. When you reuse your all metal bolt, apply thin layer of silicone grease to bushing surfaces.
