Lost Creek or Causey Safe Ice?

I saw a post on her from the 22nd saying lost creek is completely open. Sportsmans in Riverdale said it has safe ice. Anyone know for sure?

Anyone been to Causey, since that brown was pulled out, to see how thick it is?

Welcome to the site jmacanderson.
I haven’t read or heard of any recent reports about Lost Creek but we fished Causey yesterday. The ice is slightly better than a week ago but the edges are soft. There is two to three inches of ice with 2 to 3 inches of slush, then 2 to 3 inches of snow on top of that. It was a little scary getting on the ice and once we were on it we did not move around a lot because two to three cranks of the hand auger would put you through. We fished right off the face of the dam and there was at least a foot or more snow walking down to the ice. We did see one younger and lighter guy walk right onto the ice, then walk around the corner toward the boy scout camp. There was also several people fishing from the south end of dam to the confluence where the three branches meet. Did not see a lot of fish caught, we only managed 6 fish between 6 of us but they were all 11 to 13 inches. I hope this helps, but I would be very careful going out into the center of the lake, does look safe and we did not want to take the chance on Christmas eve[unimpressed]. WH2

Thanks. I used to fish Causey a lot before I moved to St George. I would like to hit it while I am here for the holidays. If the weather is decent I will probably be there or Mantua tomorrow.
