I am Fishing Deer Creek north of the island with my brother. We are in 25 feet of water. Edges were good. Looks like there is some open water here and there but not bad. We are using pink and glow rat finkees below a Kastmaster tipped with a wax worm.
Haven’t caught anything yet. Seen a couple on the finder.
How thick is the ice? I am bringing scouts up tomorrow. Should we have any concerns? Thinking aobut hitting the Charleston side
Moved out to 32 feet of water and we both caught perch. Tried a salmon egg earlier and only had a look.
I was up there yesterday. I fished on the southend, NE from the boat ramp and about 150 yards out. The ice was 10"-12" thick there were spots that didn’t have snow on them that looked like soft spots, but they were really solid. I caught 5 RBT in about 4 hours. I was fishing in 70’ and the fish were at about 30’. All the fish were about 14" - 16". Used a tan rat-finky with crawler and some scent. Tried for perchies too, but no luck .. [fishin] Good luck with your scouts!!
The ice is plenty thick where I’m at by the island. Almost the length of the entire ice ladle. Edges are good. Not sure about Charleston area though. There looks like some open water by the buoy near the island and by the road before the island.
I switched to a green rat finkee below a kastmaster tipped with a waxie. I’ve caught 2 perch and 2 rainbows. My brither caught 1 perch and lost another fish at the hole. Rainbow were suspend in 6 feet off the bottom.
Thanks for the Live Updates, it will make work go faster today!
We have gotten into the suspended rainbows. I’ve caught a few and my brother caught 1 and reeled one in on my pole.
Thanks for the real time updates. I am at work and yes I wish I was fishing.
Doing well. My brother has caught a perch and rainbow. He switched over to green rat finkee below a kastmaster tipped with a wax worm. I just lost one at the hole and my bro just caught another bow.
on my way up but going over by where the provo dumps in more fish over there i got a yellow auger if you try to move
My brother is ripping it up right now he has caught 3 rainbow since the last post.
How deep were you getting the perch? On the bottom? Wax worms?
I just caught suspended rainbow. Brother just caught a nice colored rainbow to end the day.
We caught them on the bottom in 32 feet using wax worms
Good luck. Have fun with the scouts. I am hittin the view Saturday March 5th. You should come. I am going to pick up waxies and spikes next weekend. I would love ti fish this weekend but I have to climb turbines. On call weekends with lots of wind can be a rodeo
