has anyone ever fished little dell reservoir? i drive by it all the time and have never seen anyone fishing. i know it has brook and cutthroat trout and id love to get some brookies on the fly.
I believe it is closed from Lobor day to Memorial day.
i drove into the parking lot and looked at the bulletin board and didnt see anything about that. the gates to the roads leading right up to the lake are closed but i think thats just so they dont have to keep it plowed.
Bonneville Cutts release all, Rainbows and Brooke. Yes fishing can be good at Little Dell
Open year round to fishing. They just close the gates and manned entrance station Oct 31 or early if it snows alot. Otherwise as Mactuna said.
I know that as of late december it was still wide open so be carefull and test the ice.
Little Dell is very deep and doesn’t have that many fish in it. If you want to catch them, you need to find a place where they are concentrated. I have no idea where that might be during the winter, but the shallow flats are about the only areas that produce much food for the trout. There are some shallows by the inlet and also between the south boat ramp and the dam. If you find the fish it can be decent fishing for the cutts. I think the brookies are pretty rare anymore though. And yes, you can fish year round if you’re willing to walk in.
Now that is a report! Welcome to the site!
Little Dell is artificial lures only. Don’t get caught having any bait with you. You will get cited!
