Lees Ferry Report

Water flows from 8250 cfs. early a.m. rising to 13,500 cfs.late p.m. Weather is fantastic. Warm temps. and plenty of sunshine.

This weeks action:

Fly Fishing:

Fishing activity at the Ferry is a roller coaster ride due to eratic river fluctuations. If you hit it right, fishing can be great. Dry fly action is good with very large hatches of midges. We recommend a #16-18 adams pattern on 7x, and a droppery fly preferably a midge pattern #22 on 8x. A #16 wuff and bead head zebra dropper 6x - 7x #18 zebras.

Spin Fishing:

Still good drifting cheese colored egg patterns and dropper with San Juan Worms.

Million Dollar Fish Contest sponsored by Aramark at Lake Powell May 1-24, 2001. Book your guide early to catch the “big one”. Also now booking for Stripers on the Flyrod at Lake Powell…

Good Fishing,
