Leasburg Dam

Leasburg Dam State Park offers fishing, canoeing and kayaking. The dam channels water from the Rio Grande for irrigation in the Mesilla Valley. Nearby Fort Selden State Monument has a museum and trails at the site of a 19th century army outpost.

**To get to Leasburg Dam State Park, go 15 miles north of Las Cruces on I-25, get off at exit 19 and take NM 157 west to the park entrance, as shown on this map of the area.
