Hey all,
I am going camping at Jordanelle 6/26- 6/28 but have never been there before. We are staying at an assigned camping site (probably all thats there but im clueless). We will be shore fishing with kids and was wondering if you had some tips on location and technique out there. Also what species of fish are out there? Ive heard of rock cliff but how close is that to the sites and do you need a boat? I personally would like to target bass. My bass experience is limited to Stansbury Park and I am not sure those techniques will transfer to a bigger deeper lake like Jordanelle. Any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.
Chris
The bass are all over the lake…they will hit about any color of senko type bait or tube jigs. Some of my biggest fish have come right near the shore hehehe…
Jerkbait will work really well too!
This sounds a lot like my posts from a week ago. I’m also from Stansbury…also headed to Jordanelle for really my first time fishing the bass. However, I haven’t really tried the pond near home yet so you are one up on me.
My trip ended up getting rained out last weekend and the boat still isn’t completely up and running…$1200 later and now I need to figure out how to flush out the tank to get sediment out. Tank is fiberglassed into the front of the boat (closed bow) so I can’t easily just remove the tank.
You have to try the water in front of your door. The fishing is pretty good. You wont catch any huge fish but alot that are decent. If you ever want to head out with a partner just PM me.
Later,
Chris
