Does anyone know if there is a decent place to launch a pontoon boat in the north end of the reservoir or on the west side other than the boat ramp? I am looking to get out on Saturday, and would like to try somewhere other than Rock Cliffs. Any info would be greatly appreciated 
I always launch my float tube from the PWC launch ramp on the south side of Hailstone. Fewer big boats. You can go east to fish around the “island” or west to work along the flooded oak forest on the west side. If you go beyond the longest point coming out of the trees, there is an old quarry. Good fishing close to the rocks and out along the point. Should be some smallies moving in and almost always some trout. Might be a while yet for serious perchin’.
Sometimes there is some great fishing within a hundred yards of the ramp.
