Jordanelle 8-29

Full moon and the lake was still full of little fish that wanted to play. Started the morning catching chubs until the sun came up. Once the sun came up I caught a keeper perch followed by a surprise 15inch trout. Got them off my line only to have a 11 inch smallmouth take my jig. What a way to start the morning. Never could find the schools of large perch I was after.

Worked from 5ft out to 25ft. Didn’t find many fish between 25 to 17ft. 17 to 12ft held the few perch over 10in and most of the 11in smallmouth. 12 to 8ft held 8in and smaller perch and smallmouth. Under 8ft of water held hundreds of 6in and smaller perch and smallmouth bass. Did catch a couple of 11in smallmouth bass in here. Couldn’t find anything the perch and bass wouldn’t hit in here when I got bored.

:sunglasses:Good report. Sometimes those larger perch can be elusive…or all fed up. No surprise about the rainbow. I got three last week off the PWC ramp area. Let the water cool a few degrees and Rock Cliff will be a trouters bonanza. Good time for bubble and fly or spinners. Of course they hit all of the little jiggy things too.

That looks like one of my tiger jigs in the chops of that smallmouth.

The man knows his own work. In Fact all I took was the bag of jigs you made me for Yuba that I won earlier this year and a couple dozen worms. Nothing in the bag perch or bass won’t hit with a little worm. Thanks.

Nice report and pictures, its always fun when catching fish no matter how big…
