Made my second trip ever to Jordanelle yesterday to try to catch some of those famous 4lb. smallmouth. The weather was great, not much boat traffic till abound 10 or so, then… plenty! Since I don’t know much about the lake I fished all over, caught 9 or 10 smallmouth, most under ten inches and 2 about 13 inches. Also one 4in. perch, no steriods there! Left about 1pm, couldn’t take any more wake boarders.

Buddy & I also hit Jordanelle Wed, but late afternoon. Fished from 4-8pm. Kept 17 nice perch, biggest taping out at 13", plus thinned out some bass. Guess there’s no such thing anymore as a “school night,” as there were more boatfuls of kids waterskiing than ever before.
Two of ‘em used us and our marker buoy as their personal pylons by which to complete their figure-8s. Sort of like fishing at Raging Waters. Perchies still hanging around those bottom-hugging stick-ups in the 19-23’ range. Got some decent bass grubbing the shoreline that last half-hour. Hope this wlkend’s weather cools the jets of those skiers.
Nice perch, would like to find and catch some like that. The only one I caught was tiny, should have left him on for bait! At 6:30 when I launched there were only 2 boat trailers in lot, but that sure changed as day went along.
