Jordanelle 5/4

**Hooked with Beggin4Bass and headed out to Jordanelle around 7:30 Sunday morning. It was an absolutely beautifull day with water temps in the mid 40s. **

**Hoping to get into a few bass, we headed over to some of the same places that we found them on Saturday. Tried drop shots, tubes, sencos, grubs and float’n’flies - NADA. Cruised a little more and tried in the trees, the rocks and then off the cliffs - still nada. Had several folks in boats that went by and said they were not having much action either, so, we decided to try a different area and a different approach.

We dissassembled the gear and set up some impromtu trolling rigs (since neither one of us are big on trolling we, did not have the all of the “appropriate” tackle and gear for it with us - so, we improvised).

After no initial success, we changed our offerings depths and speed numerous times until we finally found some combinations that started to get a little action. Carolina rigged spinners and spoons pulled between 10 and 20 feet down did the trick. We ended up with about 16 trout in the boat in about 2 hours. The biggest around 18-19 inches. **

Another great day of fishing on the water with great company and great conversation.

**Here’s a couple of photos (took 4, only 2 came out in focus) - let’s see if the picture resize function on the board is working for me. **

We fished Jordanelle from about noon until 4PM and caught a limit of rainbows also. We trolled four rods with two types of setups- two rods trolled about 15 feet down with Rapalas, and two light rods trolled on the surface with small pear shaped spoons, one all silver, one silver with an orange stripe. All trout but two caught on the surface on the silver and orange spoon. Lost about a dozen also as they jump immediately when hooked on the surface. Picked them off the tops of the submerged Junipers in the Rock Cliff arm.

:sunglasses:Glad to hear you guys got into the slimers, Chuck. They sure are a lot of fun when the smallies aren’t biting.
