We also hit Echo yesterday, I was a bit spent so we got a late jump. Started fishing probably around 11am, we fished in about 45’ of water. Right off the bat we had 3 nice fat bows on the ice. Didn’t see a lot come across the flasher but when we did they would typically bite. Got a few more fish after that but the fishing was not fast by any means. All the bows were suspended all over the column and the perch were down on the bottom as expected. Ice was plenty thick, weather was good other than the constant breeze, all in all a good day. There is just a little bit of snow on top of the ice but at least I didn’t run into much slush, ice should be good for a little while longer.
Did you pick up any perch? Or were you trying?
When the trout fishing slowed I dropped down and yes we did pick up the perch also. I wouldn’t say we tried real hard but we got some on the ice. The bite was really lite and they weren’t that big the ones that did come top side.
