ice fishing deercreek

I have been hunting the elusive walleye for quite some time. Mostly at Starvation and Willard. I will be going to Deercreek for an ice fishing trip this weekend. I have never ice fished deercreek before and dont know the ice conditions, but I have fished the lake before ice on and still no wallys. I realize they are difficult to catch through the ice, but I would like to be aimed in the right direction. Any tips on location would be appreciated!!

Deep water by the dam area.

good luck your going to want to be deep i am assuming but it has been at least 6 years since i caught a walleye up there! bout 6 or 7 years ago it was really good over in charleston side during the summer we were catching 15-20inchers all day but thats the last walleye report i have so good luck

I remember hearing that you can fish the deep water between the island and the RR tracks and have a slight chance at a walleye. It was referred to as “no mans land”. I know why… because nobody ever really fishes it. I am not too sure how deep it is. I have tried with little success. I would stick to trying starvation. That would be your best chance to find a walleye through the ice. There are just more of them there. They do seem to have disappeared now though.[fishon]
