Alright everybody the tournament is about one month away and we are almost half full. The fish are biting like crazy and there have been some good fish caught (18-22 inch range). If you’re interested in signing up get with me before you miss out on a great tournament. For those who don’t know about the tournament the regulations are for you. TOURNAMENT RULES
NO FISHING Friday February 17, 2012 the day prior to the tournament.
Each contestant must be registered and signed in with tournament officials prior to the start of the tournament. Registration will take place at the main dock located at 405 West 300 South Hyrum, UT 84319.
Sign in starts at 6:00 A.M. fishing starts at 8:00 A.M. and all fishing must cease at 3:00 P.M. No holes may be drilled prior to 8:00 A.M. Air horns will be sounded to signify the start and end of the tournament.
Contestants will abide by all Utah Fish and Game regulations. Contestants must also have in their possession a valid Utah fishing license during the tournament.
Only ONE LINE may be in the water at any given time. Anyone caught using multiple poles or lines will be disqualified from the tournament ant WILL FORFEIT ALL PRIZE MONEY AND ENTRY FEES.
All contestants fishing poles must be at least 25 feet away from any non contestant poles.
No contestant may register and fish in the tournament if they have already been on the lake at any time during the tournament or the official off limits period.
It is the responsibility of each angler to have a copy of the Utah Fishing Proclamation and understand all fishing regulations.
Fish under 15 inches will not be eligible for prizes. Therefore if possible, release short fish to the water unharmed. ALL TROUT are eligible for prizes, and there will be designated officials on the ice to measure fish.
Hourly prizes will be based on the hour the fish was measured. (EXAMPLE: If you caught a fish at 8:55 and the official measured and recorded your fish at 9:02, your fish will be eligible for the 9:00 – 10:00 prize) All decisions of tournament directors and officials shall be final. Fish caught in the final hour of the tournament will be eligible for measurement until 3:10.
Once a contestant possesses a 4 Trout limit they are no longer eligible to fish in the tournament for the remainder of the tournament. For this reason it is recommended (BUT NOT REQUIRED) that you practice catch and release.
**CONTESTANTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO USE MOTORIZED VEHICLES DURING TOURNAMENT HOURS. **However they will be allowed before and after the tournament to pull sleds or other gear onto or off of the ice. All vehicles must be removed from the ice prior to the tournament beginning. The only vehicles allowed on the ice during official tournament hours will be Tournament Officials, Fish and Game Officials, Emergency Personnel, and Non-Tournament anglers.
Prizes will be awarded to the longest fish caught each hour as well as prizes for the 4 overall longest fish of the contest. Prize money will be paid as follows: (BASED ON A FULL FIELD OF 150 CONTESTANTS)
$200.00 will be paid for the longest fish caught each hour.
1st $1500.00
2nd $1000.00
3rd $750.00
4th $500.00
There are 200 spots available and if all 200 slots fill up there will also be some great prizes given away which will be drawn from a raffle. Two raffle tickets will be given to each contestant at the time of registration.
In the event of inclimate weather, each contestant will be allowed to register 1 fish at the conclusion of the tournament. The hourly prize money will be paid for 5th – 11th place at $200.00 each. Reasonable effort will be made by officials to notify contestants of changes due to weather. Official’s decisions will be based on inability to measure fish on the ice due to visibility and/or weather conditions.
ANY violation of the tournament rules or violation of Utah Fish and Game Regulations will result in the immediate disqualification and forfeiture of all fishing prizes and entry fees.
Any contestant found by tournament officials behaving in an un-sportsman like or disruptive manner will be disqualified from the tournament and will forfeit all prize money and entry fees.
The fishing tournament official’s decision shall be final in any protest during the fishing tournament.
No alcoholic beverages may be consumed during tournament hours.
No contestant may have any pet on the ice during the tournament.
Each tournament contestant assumes all risks and liabilities. The State of Utah, sponsors and tournament officials disclaim all responsibility for any accident, personal injury, and/or liability during the fishing tournament.
