Hitting the berry tomorrow for Kokes

I’m headed up with my wife and boy for Kokes at the berry. I’m trying to decide where to fish… typically we fish the SC side but its been VERY slow this year. I’ve never fished the strawberry side specifically for Kokes.

So do I stick with a side I know how to fish but has been slow this year, or try over on the berry side where I hear the fishing is a bit better?

Decisions decisions… Lol!

I’m going to be there tomorrow for Cuts. What do you do to catch Kokes?? Is it just a matter of deep jigging, or do you use some special lures to catch them.

I’m going to be using white tube jigs with 3/8th lb weights in them and tipped with chub on some and nightcrawlers on the others. I’ve also had luck with Rapallas.

I’ve never caught a koke though and have always wondered HOW??

So any advice you can give about how to catch a koke would be appreciated. (by the way, I am fishing from a boat…)
