ICE’N OFF[;)] just got back the fishins hot but the weathers down right COLD 20 deg. and WINDY woo it was cold any how caught fish on worms gulp minnows and rapalas. Got five over 18 inches the biggest being 23in. had several doubles and even triples between me and my four year old son. That was a handfull!

I only had the luck of fishing huntington once and got skunked! I wanted to catch a tiger trout bad! Nice catch, maybe next time Im out that way I’ll hit it up and catch a nice tiger trout. Get it back to a taxidermist down here and they would have no idea what it is! [;)]
Great news and great report!!! Bet yor kids had fun bringign those tigers in they sure can put up a fight!! Maybe if the weather clears up a little i hit it in the morning.
Wow a 23 inch Tiger Trout and I thought my 18 inch Tiger Trout was big. I would like to get up there this summer but probably won’t make it until it freezes up again. I wonder what size we will be pulling out of there when it freezes up again.
nice fish dude.. the mouth of the river has been fishable for about 4 days now.. there have been some cought out of there in the last 3 days over 24" and close to 5 lbs…
some fool up there with a cast on his left hand has been throwing some red side shiners at them.. 
some other fool was useing egg sacks and doing good as well..

That is a NICE fish! I’ve never been down to huntington I was just wondering if one particular area of the reservoir was any better than onther? Never been down there, so I have no clue what it looks like. Maybe next saturday, looks like a great day. thanks
Any part of the res. without ice is good right now. In the summer i’ve always had better luck on the west end where the two creeks run in.throwing x-raps ,gulp minnows or dead chubs.
I’ve never been to Huntington as well. Isn’t there another res. that has bass up there that’s named Huntington North or similar? I’m unfamiliar with the territory. A few questions to those that have the answers.
Are there places to camp up there that are in the forest and not lakeside? Are boats allowed, restrictions if any? I suppose I could look in the proclamation and search online but those that have been up there and know the area better. I’d like to go camping at the end of June somewhere new. I’ve narrowed it down the Gorge and ?

yes there is another lake called huntington.. it’s right north of the town huntington. it’s about 30 min. drive from the huntington Res on top the mountan..
cmaping all over the place up there!! by the lake or out in the sticks it’s up to you on that one..
you can put a boat on huntington. but there is no ramp and no way of getting a truck close to the water. so you have to put it in by hand..
yes you can have a gas motor on the lake..
if your going up in june you will want a boat or tube to get around on.. the fishing neer the shoure is crapy at best.. shoure fishing is best right after ice out after that the fish seem to move out into deeper water..
the cool thing about that area is there are about 10 lakes around the mountan there and a bunch of streams all full of fish..

side note. i did see a bunch of c-ment blocks seting by the outhouse up there the other day.. not sure if they are going to use them for a boat ramp? or just keep pepole out of areas they dont want them in..
