I just wanted to make sure but am I correct that Henry’s lake opens up on Saturday May 23rd? I had it in my head that it opened up the Thursday before memorial day but that may have been previous years. I was thinking of going to the opener and I am coming from Utah, so didn’t want to be there on the wrong day.
Who is all planning on being up on Henry’s Lake for the opener? I was thinking about it, but I’m sure there will be a zillion people there and I am land locked. Are there any suggestions for a land locked guy?
Last year the fish were bunched up in shallow water . They slayed them at county boat dock from the bank . It was combat fishing at its best . I am sure it will be very crowded like every year . Here is a picture of a 6 pound fish my granddaughter caught on Henry’s last year . Curt G.
Yesterday the lake was still frozen. There was a 50’ wide and 400 yards long crack out from the cliffs to the north east. The edge by the outlet was melted 10 to 40 feet out. It also looked like there was a bigger crack in the middle of the lake.
Go to Idaho Parks and Recreation . Look for Invasive Species Stamp . You can buy them on line . They take about a week to come , but you can print your receipt and use it until the stamp comes . Curt G.
Do you need the boat stamp for just Henry’s Lake, or to fish any water in Idaho? I often fish the Malad area lakes and wonder if it need to purchase one for there. Thanks, Acey
You need the stamp for any craft over ten feet i better back off because im not the pro on it but from what i understand is if it has a motor you need a stamp and if its over 10 feet you need a stamp ill let someone who knows more go from here sorry im not much help
No, I would say that you summed it up pretty well. The stamps are available online or by mail. There have been several discussions about this cluster that our representatives came up with.
I have to Judge a Spaniel hunt test in Three Forks MT. I am thinking about my son and I stopping and fishing Henerys. Any tips for a couple of guys in float tubes? What kind of lures or bait would we want on hand? Thanks. Ron
Sounds like me. I will be on a few lakes closer to Utah for the weekend. I will be there Thur thru Mon, maybe Tues depending on the fishing. Not into the combat fishing.
