I need some help from a few of you with fish finders and flashers, we are doing a clinics during the party and I was hoping to have a few different units, like a regular fish finder, a Marcum or Vexilar and a Showdown for those that don’t know how to operate one or are interested in learning about the difference between them.
I am 99% Sure that Ivan and I can make it. We have a Humminbird 500 series and a Eagle fishfinders. We have a good amount of gear and would be glad to help out.
I have a Vexilar That I could probably show up with, I have never Fished Rockport, but if you would send me a PM with the details I think that I might be able to make it work.
wh2 i’ll be there with my vex and redleaker will be there with his fishfinder? we plan on bein there at the ramp bout 7 am i’ll be in my 4door dodge with a couple of wheelers we thought we would converse on channel 10 on the radios if you got one. let us know what else you need help with
Yes, I will be there with a Lowrance x67 ice machine. It has both a flasher mode and a chart mode. My brother will be there with another finder as well. Don’t know what flavor it is though??? Care to chime in Wolfpack?
Great, I know you had at least one flasher but I figured you needed it for the ice fishing class you were doing. Adam told me they were starting at 8am So getting there around 7am should give you plenty of time to set up. I’ll see if my radios still work and if they do I’ll bring them up. I plan on bringing up a table to put the BFT banner around if the wind isn’t too bad so I might need a hand putting that up. PM sent
has anyone made any plans if ice conditions dont hold up
just a thought but when your working with kids its saftey first even though we still have some time lets hope it gets good and cold so the lakes will start building ice again
If it is anything like it was in years past when Doug Miller held them, this event will not happen if there is any question about ice safety. With as many people as are expected, I sure KSL will not hold an event like this, if there is a chance of anyone being hurt because of thin ice.
If the event gets cancelled due to poor ice conditions, it would be greatly appreciated if you would let interested people know they can come up to the Sulphur Derby. Evanston is only another 40 minutes up the road and the ice up here is still great. We won’t have any problems with that. We still have space for people interested and this derby is a fundraiser for kids to keep them involved in athletics. Anyone that doesn’t have the info, I will gladly send it to or re-post. Thanks again and good luck with everything.
Not a problem, like I said before this is a KSL event and they set up the date. I would hope you would not lose any folks that would other wise be coming to your event but if there is any change, because of ice conditions, I will post about it as soon as possible. Good luck to you, I hope your event is a big success.
are we still allowed to fish only the river and wave at people as they drive by? i see someone lost a 4 wheeler, yet more ammo to never walk on ice! otherwise, if you need help with anything that involves not actually walking on the ice i can help out fo’sho
Thanks, hopefully the ice gets better everywhere by the sounds of it. Hopefully, in the future we end up with different dates. If they are at different days next year I will definitely come and help you guys out too.
LOL, sure you can wave and you can even stop by if you like. Adam told we they had a group helping out on the shore, so there will be a few volunteers that are keerping off the ice[;)].
