so me and my 5yr old son are itching to hit the hard deck in the morning. got all our gear ready and was wondering about how the ice is at causey any reports would be very appreciated.
I was there today from about 7:30 to 1:30. Ice is good if you don’t mind sitting on "3 little bit of slush that got pretty slick on the way back to the bank, . I threw everything in my tackle at’em today and not 1 bite. I saw 1 group catch a couple tho( from what I could see they were dead sticking with waxies.
I hit Causey yesterday with my father inlaw and one of his buddies. Fishing was slow at best. We ended up icing around 12 to 15 fish all of them small planter bows. Ice right off the damn was only 3 and a half inches thick with 3 inches of slush but the farther out you go the better the ice seemed to be. Brought a couple home to add to the Cutts already in the fridge. At least the smokers full.
My 3 year old and buddy hit the dam today. 8:ish to 1:ish. Right off the dam near the spill way. We landed 6 but tons of bites. The fish were mostly right under the ice. between 8 and 12 feet down is all. Real lite bite too. Best of luck!
I was using a green Ratso with a glow head tipped with a meal worm. About 2 feet or so under a silver and blue cast master. Dead sticking mostly.
Wish I went left instead of right today. I tried the same rig. Good to hear is wasn’t dead all over the dam
