Willard is popping as of today! Water temp of 72* and the fish are hungry.
Launched at about 1 and headed to the feed lot. Rigged up rattle traps in shad colors and sent out the first rod. 30 seconds later wiper on. About the time i got it to the boat my cousin hooked up after being in the water for 20 seconds. 2 minutes later another fish on. We found the SPOT and stayed on it for 3 hours. We landed 14 wipers, lost 3 after the hook-up, missed 11 hits, lost 3 eyes at the net, lost 3 wipers out of the basket and all this happened in 3 hours. Trolling speed was about 2.8 to 3.2(no gps this time) with about 60’ to 120’ of line out. Pics later.

Man you must have had a great time catching those wipers!!So i take it you can launch a boat there safely out of the north marina? I really want to hit willard but dont want to damage my boat while fishing it.
I’ve been thinking the catching would turn on when the water temp hit 70*, sounds like you hit it just right Brody. Were any of the walleye bigger or were they the smaller males? Great report

A few midges but saw no skeeters(except for a boat) but we left at about 4:30.[;)]

Boat launching is OK? I’m just checking to see what watersports might be competing for some fishing spots. Is it deep enough for that yet? Still working on the dikes?
