I went along with Ray to find him some crappie for supper. He is a great bassman but not much on crappie. I was to be the "guide". Well I blew it big time.

We fished several docks with at least 10 fow, his boat has super Lowrance electronics and we found crappie schooled in many places but they wouldn't hit but it was windy and hard to cast light lures and really know you were hitting the school. We even went to drifting thru a slew loaded with fish but only caught 3 or 4 short fish. We used BG's in all the colors of shad. Also we fished lots of dead fall at and near deep water but only caught a few shorties.

We fished from 9:30 until 6:30 and had 3 keeper crappie and about 8 throw backs. 1 big drum, and Wind was up and wind chill was 34 degrees. Water temp only 47 today. I won't be going til it warms up to about 60. Today was murder.

Still it was a great day to be on the water, especially in his 21 ft Ranger.
