I was using large bluegills that night.

I released those fish after photos so they could grow up.
how do you hook the blue gill? through the lip? on the back below the spine? through the tail? are the blue gill dead or alive? I keep all the big cats I get. I let the smaller ones go so they can grow big. I have never gotten any flat head catfish. I have not fished for catfish in awhile I bet there is another monster catfish sitting in there where I have gotten the large ones.

Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. The amount of preparation may decide if it is good luck or bad luck.
If I catch one flathead it might be a happenstance occurence referred to as luck. If I catch several it is more than coincidence [;)]

LOL, Robby is catch and release if i’m not mistaken. Those big flatheads aren’t as tastey as the smaller ones anyhow. I don’t keep anything over 20 pounds to eat.
Beer batter and deep fry. Eat with a cold brew of your choice. YUMMY
