I fished FG on Friday and Saturday out of Lucerne with my son and a friend in the boat. Searched hard for mac, they were few and far between and not in the mood to play. So, we decided to fish Kokanee even though it is early. And yes, we went to Jared (sockeyeslayer). We put two limits of fat 2 lb kokes plus a big 3.5 lber in the cooler Friday and hooked up with a few more saturday before we left at noon. Fished around the pipleline at 32 ft deep in 150 ft of water, pink and greens squids worked well. It was never fast, but we were picking one up every 15 minutes or so. The ice has retreated to about Anvil Point, and what was left was very, very rotten. Water temps in the afternoon were around 35 degrees, and barely a breath of wind. There were probably 25 boats out on Saturday, the soft water season has started.
sounds like you had a good trip, no wind thats a big plus at the gorge. so how ya going to cook those kokes up? my fav is a smoker, tastes like jerkey lol.
Its never too early for a good kokanee report! Sounds like you got some good ones, especially for March. What dodgers were you running with those squids? Using any scents at all?

Pink UV small from Rocky Mtn Tackle. Based on Jared’s advice I tried to minimize the amount of action that the squids had this early in the year - the fish are still a little sluggish.
