We got to the water about 1030 this morning and thunder was rumbling in the distance. Decided to go ahead and put in and try our luck regardless of the rain. We started fishing deep holes off the banks with drop shot gulp minnows and did pretty well when we could get the cats to leave them alone. For some reason they live the smell of these things. If anyone is into catfishing this is a ticket for it. The nice thing is they are so tough that often you can use them a long time.

The flow was pretty slow, but did begin to pick up during the day and by the time we left at 4 was running pretty good. Water temps were 82 in most places. The fish began to move up a little as the clouds stayed with us most of the day, and we got rained on a few times. We caught several nice spots slow rolling spinner baits off rocks. We also used crappie jigs around trees and rocks. The interesting thing was the crappie! We caught 11 nice ones and 3 that we had to toss back. We ended the day with 14 crappie, 21 spots, 6 blue cats, one channel cat and numerous bream. We kept 11 crappie for the pan along with 10 spots. Fishing wasn't super for 5 hours on the water, but it was sure relaxing! Sorry no pics. Mike's phone is messed up.
