Fished Fish Lake yesterday with Out4aFloat. The Splake that will eat anything were not hanging out in the Twin Creek area. The sonar said they were down there but few wanted to prove it. We ended up with 25 fish by the time we left. There were a couple of small bows in there but mostly Splake. No macs. Fished in water from 19 to 85 feet.
Sure was a lot nicer and warmer down there then it was in Utah Valley when we got back.
Thanks for posting your report Spyder, doesn’t sound like too bad of a day. What about the perch, did you catch any? Any size to the splake or bows? WH2
Thanks for the report.
Did you only fish in the twin creeks area?
Did you see any fish swimmig around in deeper water (like macs)?
You sound disappointed - sorry you didn’t get more.
sounds like you had a good time. we are headed there tomorrow for 4 days. hope we kick some ars. i will post a report with pictures when i get back.

We will also be up there for 3 days this weekend. We will be fishing the south end on the steep side of the laek for mace friday morning and then off mac poit friday afternoon for everything else. Come join if youd like. We will be fishing mill meadow and forsyth on sturday also. Best of luck and look forward to all the reports from that area.
Didn’t catch any perch. As to the bows they had nice color but no size maybe 12 to 13 inches. Never messured one. I caught one Splake that was 18 inches and it was the biggest of the day. I don’t think any of the others were over 16.
Yes we stayed in just the one area. Moved in and out from shore but that was about it. By the time I moved out into the deeper water Out4aFloat was jigging for fish about 18ft down and we were just watching the jigs without sonar on. He had his finder on earlier in the day but I don’t remember him talking about any really large fish coming through.
Re: “The Splake that will eat anything were not hanging out in the Twin Creek area.”
A few friends and I were there recently. One of us was using jigs tipped with mealworms or waxies and I was tipping my jigs only with perch meat. We fished in relatively close proximity to each other. We both had a superb day, but he caught quite a few nice rainbows and fewer splake and I continuously caught almost exclusively splake.(some nice ones too!) It seemed the splake preferentially liked meat on the jigs and the bows preferred other morsels.
Had heard that so we had worms, minnows, perch, and meal worms. Also went through differnt types, sizes of jigs and tubes. They did seem to like the color white but that was about the only thing that was consistant.
Then again with my luck on the ice this year I was probably only five feet away from the fish wanting to put the feedbag on.[crazy]
Bumperoo!
Well, how did it go at Fish Lake? Did you or ironworker crank out a report or did I just miss it?
We’re down there on the 12th. I think the weather is going to be tolerable and hopefully there won’t be too much slush.
i posted a report about 2 weeks ago. we did great.

Sorry. I didn’t really report. Lifs has been busy and not much for a report. The fising was extremely fast for splake and perch at Fish Lake. We tried for macs in the morning and couldn’t get any to bite. It was hard getting our 5" jigs past the splae. We should have just fished for the splake the whole time. Mill Meadow was awesome, better than Fish lake. Caught nice browns and big perch for the whole 3 hours we were there.
I have just about given up catching mac ice fishing. I seem to just waste a lot of time and money chasing them while I could be nailing other fish. Oh well. That Saturday was one of my top three bmost beautiful ice fishing days.
Sorry, Ironworker, I do remember your report.
Jacksonman - where, with what, etc. on Mill Meadow? How were conditions there? Did you try Forsyth? How big were the splake at Fish Lake?
The splake all seemed to be 14-16"s at FIsh Lake. We fished out of mac point, the south side across the lake and just across from the lodge.
At MM we fished the other side of the boat ramp in 20-25ft of water and caught on everything, ice cutters being the most effective. Non-stop action for three hours.
We only fished forsyth for one hour and didn’t get anything. We didn’t get there until mid-afternoon and didn’t want to walk to where we really wanted to go. Oh well. I’ll be back in April.
