Or better said, four hours of Nothing and 10 fish in one hour.
We threw everything but the kitchen sink trolling the Berry this morning… downriggers, minnows, Jakes, Rapalas, spinners, pot gear, Lite and heavy lines… the works.
We had nothing for two hours early.
Once we found an area they were biting though, they hit just about everything in the water.
About the only common set-up we use that got skunked was the tried and true Gold spotted Jakes (normally our hottest commodity up there).
Of the 10, 7 were 15 inches or larger. Three were a shade over 18" including the two Rainbows we brought home. The rest are still swimming around up there.
We ended with a 6-4 Cutthroat to Rainbow ratio… More rainbows per Cutt than we’ve caught in a while.
Next trip for me is a week at Lake Powell starting a week from tomorrow!
Can’t wait to go bag some stripers!
