Headed back to electric lake hoping for more trout for the smoker. The neighbors and relatives line up at the door when they smell the smoker working. It was zero when we parked. Someone must be a little crazy. Walked a ways to the “honey hole” and set up camp. Before I could get my chair and gear all set up, Rustyhook had caught three. Told him he better slow up or we’d have to leave early. I finally got started and things were quick for the first two hours. Then things slowed but we still caught fish right up until we left about 1:30. Once the sun came out it was nice. There is a good six inches of new snow and three inches of slush under the snow, in some spots. It was a little hard walking. The last picture is of the haze down in the valley. We kept seven for the smoker, hope no one shows up for a hand out.
Wow glad someone caught some tigers. Guess I should’ve continued up the road a ways and caught me some tigers. It was -15 at scofield when I showed up.
I fished the north end with some friends this morning. Not the best place to access the water but we did pretty well for tigers and cutts. Fished the shalllow water 6-7 feet deep. The slush monster was out in full force. Probably best to have waders next time.
We packed up and headed around to the dam where the slush wasn’t nearly as bad. Didn’t do as well there but access to the ice was much better.
Great report, You look like a frosty angel in that first pic Sewfish. [;)]
I am the camera person and the hairy fellow that is usually in the pictures is Rustyhook. I just get appointed to do the posts. It was really cold to start with.
