Yes! I did end up going! Got to the dam around 8:30 a.m. and the air temp was -12!! That was not the half of it though… the wind was blowing and made it extremely cold! We fished the north end by the dam about 10-15 feet… Caught some tiger and cutts ranging from 12-18 inches. We ended up walking across the middle back towards the south to a small cove to get out of the wind. Here it was only about 10 feet deep and the fish were right on the bottom. Started catching bigger fish there. There was a frozen slush layer that was 4" thick and the ice below that was 6-7" thick! lots of fun, but the cold ran us out after about 4 hours.
I’m wondering how much room there is to park there at the dam, and how hard it was to get down to the ice through the deep snow?
there is room along the side of the road.. no problems with that.. there is very deep snow on the dam and down the hill.. it’s as bad as i have ever seen it there.. most years the wind keeps most the snow off the top of the dam.. but this year there is about 15 inchs well probley more now on the dam.. and it was slow going.[unimpressed].
fishing for us was slow at best.. i caught 6 tigers in about 5 hours.. 3 others in the party did not catch anything.. so a slow day at E-lake… i’m thinking in a week or so i’ll be able to get the snowmobile in on north end.. i’m thinking the fishing will be alot better on that end..
