ECHO ICE CONDITION

WANTED TO HIT ECHO SUNDAY AND WANTED TO TAKE THE SNOWMOBILE IS THE THICK ENOUGH THANKS FOR THE INFO.

Not a chance for the machine. There has only been people on it for 2 days and they are pushing it.[;)]

I guess rockport is in the same shape ?Scary ??? [unimpressed]

Were people by the resort or the dam? We might try on sunday, but we just don’t want to fish on 1 3/4" ice[;)]

We fished up on the east side near the dam, the ice was 5". There were also a group by the marina. The fishing was slow but steady we ended up with 13 trout between 4 of us in 3 hours . We did not go out to the deaper water to look for perch. We drove to rockport first but the ice didn’t look very stable. Maybe by monday

Thanks for the heads up  We are going to give it a shot on Sunday. Look for a white Dodge Ram with a BFT sticker if anyone wants to swing by and say hello. There should be five in our group[fishin]

what do you mean rockport ice didnt look to stable ?? Open water, slush ?? Im heading there in the morning..

How was the Rock? I am wanting to find some perch.

Brody, the ice is safe but the slush is making it difficult. We did real well fishing Echo on Friday and Saturday Caught a lot of fish in 40 feet. caught a lot of small perch and a few good ones for the table. The trout in there are fantastic quality, we have seen some awesome rainbows and phenomenal Browns. Nothing like the Monster from Causey but still worthy…LOL The ice is a clear 4" with lots of crud on top. But as we all know conditions can change quickly, especially if it begins to warm up…

Thanks for the info.:sunglasses:

I saw 3-5 inches of ice at the dam today, with some slushy areas. Also slushy in spots next to the bank. This place won’t be ready for a sled or ATV for awhile still. I had very good trout fishing, no perch to speak of.
