Echo Conditions

I’m heading up to Echo this Saturday and wondered if anyone has heard or has first hand knowledge of the ice conditions?

Will I be walking through water on the edge?

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Not the latest ice intel but we we’re at Echo last Sunday. Edges showed signs of being soft. Now with this weeks warmer weather I’m sure the edges ‘will be soft’…bring planks to be safe…the main body of water has approx. 11-13" of ice of that I’d say 6-7" is the solid clear ice the rest is the snow cone ice of frozen snow slush.

Here’s the link to the report I posted last week…

Good luck on Echo…that place has potential but for some reason this year the larger Perch have vanished or are hiding somewhere on the body of water…:slight_smile:

Thanks k2muskie, I appreciate the intel

We had a great day fishing at Echo on Saturday, we got there about 8:30 am, the sun was shinning and there was no wind. The mercury was at about 15 degrees but warmed up quickly to 42. We left at 2:00 pm and had caught 13 fish. we were fishing in 10’ of water at varying depths. The edges of the lake were still frozen when we left, so no wet feet.

The ice where we were fishing was 24" crystal clear with about 4" of snow on top, we only had a hand auger so it was lotsa work drilling them holes.

Nice! That 1st pic is precious. I hope you send a copy to grama/grampa if you can!

Good form my man

Looks like you kept the kids entertained and that my friend is half the battle. Good day out.
