Went to East Canyon Friday 2/15. Fished near the boulders toward the resort side. Had a few takers in 20’ and a lot of light nibblers/bait stealers. Much slower than my last trip where we iced 16 between three of us in a short couple of hours. Used white curly tail jigs w/ shrimp & mealys. Any better places to fish up there or a change of baits/techniques as the season wears on?
RAK and I fished East Canyon Saturday with the Parker Hanifan company party. Fished straight out from the State Park Marina. Fished from 7:30am-1:00pm, caught 10 between the two of us. The catching was tough, theres alot of little bait stealers down there, missed more than we caught. Smaller jigs and ice flies worked the best. Did catch a couple on cut’r bugs and two inch tube jigs early but had to down size for better hook ups. Grizzy Bugs made by Maniac worked well. Snow and ice conditions are in great shape.

No, we didn’t get that far down. We just parked along the side of the road. Snow’s pretty deep on the lake side, so we used the opposite side of the road to keep from getting stuck.
