Hit East Canyon today, 8 guys, 2 rods a piece and a whopping 7 fish in 5 hours. Slow, switched tactics and moved about to a fault. Ice is 6-8 inches of clear. Fished towards damn in 15 to 40 foot of water. Spotty at best, forget the fishing boards at Sportman’s, hitting chartreuse jig/paddle bugs with wax worm only.
Didn’t see too many other anglers with much more luck, make the drive to the “Berry” would be recommendation.
I went on Saturday with similar results. We had 7 guys and were there 3-4 hours. We caught 3 fish and had 3 get off.
Went Sat, used a glow green rat finkee with wax worm. Fished from 0745-1200. Strait out from the first point W of the ramp. They were coming in between 8’ and 15’ over 60’ of water. Caught 8 rainbows between 12 and 16". I lost 2 at the hole and 2 broke my line. Fun day, I’ll be going back!
