Had to try my new different boat out, an older needing attention type boat. Got to East Canyon at 3pm (notice the pm, had been shooting for 10 am, but a watering turn messed up, oh well. Winds hit just as I solo launched, a way bit tricky, got the boat wedged sideways in the docks. It did float. First fish was small trolling a rainbow rapala floating. Didn’t know where to fish, evidently not at the north end, finally figured out why all the fishing boats where at the southern end. Picked up a couple more trolling flat fish. Down rigged produced nothing, probably wrong terminal tackle. Then about 7pm the fish started hitting the surface and of course I had no flies. Found a tan maribu jig, trolled it solo and had a hit every five minutes, nice fights. Maybe a wooly bugger or just a plain wooly worm would work. Open to suggestions, headed back Sunday with family. Boat was good, trolled great.
I am going to make a sincere effort to post every time I fish and show tackle and fish. Thanks for the help..
