I have some rods, reels and other misc. fishing equipment that I would like to donate but have no idea where to take it. I would prefer it went to getting kids involved in fishing. It is all good used just don’t use it anymore, and I hardly fish with anyone that doesn’t have there own stuff (main reason i kept it around).
Does anyone know where i could take it?
thanks

Maybe Drew Cushing will respond as I know he is or has been involved with the Community Fishing areas and getting programs set up for kids.
Tube Dude is always helping people out with fishing gear.too. Kids, less fortunate fisher folks, newbies etc. Between those 2 guys should find a home for your extra gear
Spring/summer fishing classes for kids should be starting up soon. They could probably use some equipment.
We love to accept used fishing tackle at the Meadow Creek Pond in Rou.
It that’s too far, try one of the other Community Ponds.
We set the rods up with new line and give them to kids that can’t afford to buy their own.
Either way, thank you for your donations.
Bring it into a local shop and tell them to give it to someone in need that doesn’t have engough money to get into the sport but wants to go fishing.

You can contact the DWR.
Thanks for the info everybody, I think I have a destination for it now, and hopefully it will get some good use.

If you don’t find a good home for your equipment, me an most of my friends have kids that could put it to good use. We usually have enough rods for the kids but there’s always times that we could use a spare or two
